The flowers are built by hand from looped ribbon and cord thread, which is what gives the petals their raised, fringed texture rather than the flat printed look of cheaper lace. Around and inside each bloom, the fabric is packed with sequins, seed beads and small stones in mixed tones — silver, gold and iridescent — so the light catches differently as you move. Because the embellishment runs edge to edge, your tailor doesn't need to add stones or beading afterwards. Cut it, fit it, and it's finished.
